Supporting the Swiss economy for 10 years with the Janus application

The Janus application was launched ten years ago on the initiative of Cautionnement romand. This ambitious project, initially designed to manage guarantee applications at regional level, quickly demonstrated its potential. In 2017, following the success of the platform, a major extension enabled all the Swiss surety organizations to be brought together under a single entity: Bürgschafts-Support AG.

This unification has not only centralized the bonding processes in Janus, it has also strengthened Switzerland's ability to respond to crises. For example, the management of COVID-19 credits, in collaboration with the SECO and a large number of Swiss banks, was assimilated into the application in record time.

A unique and connected platform

Janus is much more than just an application; it has become an essential platform for the day-to-day activities of Swiss surety organizations. The ‘Bank Portal’ developed and linked to Janus enables more than 100 banks to simplify and secure the exchange of financial information, guaranteeing smooth, centralized management of COVID-19 credit guarantees.

Evolutionary design and continuous modernization

OWT has designed Janus as a scalable platform, capable of adapting to changing market needs. With its modern, flexible architecture, the platform is ready for the integration of new functionalities, in particular for the global management of corporate credit guarantees. This facilitates a quick response to exceptional needs in future.
